Session #1, September 20 - 26, 2008
Closing Comments by Sixth Grade Classes, Friday, September 26
East School, Lightning's Class (Ms. Yungen's Class)
Our class had a terrific time at Outdoor School! We loved spending time with our counselors and cabinmates and making new friends.
We had lots of fun here at camp. We will remember all the songs we sang, doing the skits, campfires, looking at the stars, sleeping in the three-sided cabins, seeing the wild animals in their habitat (like the deer at Survival), seeing the view of the ocean and playing on the beach.
We experienced a little of what it's like to have certain disabilities. It taught us to be empathetic and more thankful. We also learned some things about teamwork like listening to everyone is portant and that leaders have the special responsibility to draw others out and make sure everyone is heard. And we saw our field study counselors, Pickle Bee, Cheese, Shaggy, Ace, Okie Dokie and Pooke demonstrate caring and respect. Thanks for being good examples for us to follow!
We want to thank everybody at camp who helped make our week special:
