1. What do you think were the greatest benefits of being a camp counselor for your son or daughter?
- _________ came back with increased self-esteem. He seemed to have an increased sense of empathy for others. He also showed a renewed appreciation of his own home - his own circumstances, perhaps.
- Our _____, ____________, came home with a sense of deep respect of others. _____ seems to have had _______ eyes opened to the reality that words & actions can and do hurt. _____ has a peace about ______. It's hard to explain. More respect for _____ _______ brother _________.
- We hosted the exchange student from _____________. So _____ had a great time. Was so much different than ______ thought it would be. Friendships _____ formed. A very emotional week in a good way.
- Bonded with other students. Our exchange student ______ enjoyed getting to know other students from the HS.
- This was my __________ second year at TCODS as a counselor. ____ experience was as rich as last year. ____ dad and I see the benefits to ____ as being inreased confidence, deepened compassion for others & sense of deep acceptance for who _____ is. _____ always makes new friends that seem to last a long time.
- For _______, it was a chance to experience something _____ has never experienced before, camping, the great Oregon forest, the kids and the wonderful fellowship of the other counselors.
- As an exchange student, it gave _____ an opportunity to meet other teenagers and develop much deeper relationships with them early in the school year. It also gave _____ a window into family life and culture of American children.
- Being a positive role model for younger children, developing meaningful relationships with peers, kids and adults. Sharing feelings with others. Learning to appreciate your family, your blessings - roof over your head, food, people who love and support you. Learning to work out conflicts in positive ways. ____ always comes home more mature, more appreciative and makes many new friends. This time ___ received letters from 2 of ___ kids, and this confirmed again how ____ formed a meaningful bond and increased their self-esteem & trust.
